Boys ... will be boys
Gabe got his first stitches (two) on Thursday evening. He slipped off a chair and hit the dining room table with his head and cut his eyelid right below the eyebrow. The cut was not too deep or bit and it probably didn't require stitches but we didn't want him to have an ugly scar and I was worried that it may open up and bleed during the night. So we went to Children's Primary and 2.5 hrs later emerged with two stitches. Gabe did well ... the longer we were there, the more comfortable he was. They numbed his eye lid but did not sedate him. He cried when they were cleaning and stitching his eye ... but as soon as it was over, he was back to normal. He was galloping out of the hospital. Oh ... there were 3 other boys with cuts/bruises on their heads at the hospital when we were there.

The morning after
Purple eye shadow ;)
Last night we went to Ivan's and Monette's for Ivan's 'famous' corn beef and cabbage dinner in celebration of St. Patty's Day. Ivan's sister, Lisa, was there with her husband and kids. Her oldest - Anton - is about 4 years old. We never seen it before, but Gabe just loved Anton. He let him play with his new toys, followed him around everywhere, kept hugging him, chasing him ... they even wrestled. He had a great time and we were able to have a bit of adult interaction/conversation. He wore himself out because he slept in til almost 11 am this morning. It was great :)

I'm glad Gabe is OK, puffy eye and all.
