Birthday party for Apollo

On Saturday, April 23, Gabe attended his first birthday party for a friend.  His classmate Apollo turned 4 years old.  Apollo had a dinosaur theme birthday party at his home.  The kids had a "dinosaur dig" when they searched for plastic dinosaurs and other "treasures" in a sandbox.  Then they went to a dinosaur den and found more treasures (crayons, markers, and bubbles).  They finished up their dinosaur tour in a dinosaur cave (a dark basement room with a black light) where they got to paint with glow-paints on special paper hung on the walls.  Of course there was also a pizza, other snacks, and a birthday "cake."  The "cake" was made up of separate cupcakes arranged in a shape of a dinosaur and held together by green frosting.  I wish I had a picture of the dinosaur cup-cake, it was very cute and a big hit.  Gabe had a nice time.
